We are going to put our car seat in the car today. We have a meridian AHR. Where is the safest place to put it? In the middle or behind the passenger seat? I originally thought the middle but then thought it might be hard getting bub in and out if I have to climb in to reach the middle seat?

Hi Op
i also have a Prado. when bubs arrives i have been thinking the same thing. The middle is always the safest but i dont like the idea of climbing into the car esp if i have to have a csec. i have two other children in boosters so i think either side i will put baby.
good luck

The middle position is the safest. And yes it's more awkward. cool.gif

Actually I have read middle seat has lower rate of injury, but highest rate of death ohmy.gif

Where the seat fits best in your car. Length of middle seatbelt or hump of seat contour can make it harder to get correct fit of seat in that position. Also impact on drivers seat needs to often be considered.

I would test it out before bubs arrives. I found that the capsule created a blind spot when placed behind the passenger seat. I chose to put the capsule behind the driver for this reason. On more than 1 occasion we had someone approach us to discuss the placement of the capsule. We live rurally & I ALWAYS parked in a carpark. I never parallel parked with DD in the capsule. I also work as a safety professional and deal with risk assessment daily so I was comfortable with the decision I made and able to discuss when challenged.
