It depends on the teachers.
In the past, my daughter has had female teachers (lower Primary) so I find a nice coffee cup with a few sticks of coffee blend (like the Nescafe cappuccino sticks) and some biscuits wrapped up in cellophane go down a treat.
The bonus here is that you can make 4-6 depending on the type of coffee packets you buy and a multi pack of cups.

DD has an older male teacher this year, so I'm a little stuck on what to do myself.

We made our own Jam this year and will give a jar to our teachers.

Last year tin of biscuits (very nice tin from Target).

key fobs, produce bags, bags of other sorts, tea wallet etc, etc (i don't think the other ladies saw where this was posted).

I'm making our teacher 5 of these http://daisyjanie.typepad.com/daisyjanie/2...df-pattern.html

1 of these http://www.u-createcrafts.com/2009/08/gues...fabric-key.html

and one of these http://blog.christyscreations.com/tea-wallet-tutorial/

i've made the produce bags (made 10 in a day), and the other 2 once cut only take an hour or so

I got a production line of these http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/2008/07/classi...l/#.UER_JqNhiSN going last year. I chose some striped canvas for the male teacher and a nicer pattern for the females. I still see them around school and the male teacher asked where he could buy more! I might have to be boring and do the same again this year!
