So... for 2 weeks now I have been sick in a strange way.
Firstly my ears feel like they do when you in between that atmosphere issue in a plane, you know just between where they are about to pop but don't? So they've been like that for 2 weeks straight. I live on a mountain but not a very high one (about 600m) and every time I go off the mountain they pop and sometimes quite painfully. Then say 20 minutes later I realise everything has been so dulled out for that time. Then I go up the mountain again and they go back to feeling like they are underwater, or blocked, or something!! I can't hear people properly - it sometimes sounds muzzled or like everything is a bit fuzzy. I haven't been swimming or the like. Apart from when they pop they don't otherwise hurt. However.. I also have continuous nasal drip. But I don't think its a cold - its not like a cold, just like someone has turned a very fluidy tap inside the back of my nose. Then at times everything goes fuzzy. As in I can be working at the PC and I can't actually see the screen properly - like my whole head fogs up. I use the PC quite a bit as it is my work. I certainly can't do as many hours in a row as I usually do. I did so on Tuesday and by evening I felt like I was going to faint my head was so foggy. Sometimes I feel like I've been hit by a truck and just so lack of energy. I had a huge sleep this afternoon as I just felt like crap. But not because I feel sick - just completely zapped and lacking anything - yet I slept into after 8am and went to be relatively early for me (about 11pm compared to later). Oh and friends have commented that my eyes look glassy and dull - like something is wrong. Like they don't have their usual life. When I look in the mirror my eyes definitely look glassy. So go on EB dr... diagnose me. The ear thing is driving me insane! ETA I can still function, go to sports etc, just deal with the symptoms. I also haven't been to GP - I went to go the other day but they were booked out so I gave up and have been too busy since to be bothered. Plus don't want to hassle a dr over a simple cold if that's what it is. This post has been edited by Katakacpk: 23/11/2012, 09:01 PM |

I reckon hayfever, an ear infection, need new glasses and get some sleep... BTW I work in finance not medicine so perhaps I'm not the best person to ask...

Go see a doctor and get it sorted out, even if it is "a simple cold" you need to have a way to treat it.

If you can't be bothered going to a GP then you're probably not that sick.
It could be any number of things but a cold or an allergy causing fluid in your ears and a bit of excess snot production is probably your issue. Nobody can diagnose you on the net, if you want an answer then see a GP. |

Ooooh I know what this could be ....just let me go look it up and will post back with a link.
Sounds like you are leaking cerebrospinal fluid (brain fluid)....it can drip out the nose or the ear. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spontaneous_c...inal_fluid_leak check it out - it's surprisingly common especially in women over 40. You should see your GP. And sooner rather than later as it's not really good for you. This post has been edited by libbylu: 23/11/2012, 09:07 PM |

It's definetly your sinus's, whether its inflammation of them and build up, or an actually blockage of some sort is something your gonna have to go to the gp to check out, only reason alarm bells are ringing for me is because its effecting your vision and energy.
Try a decongestant tablet that has a combination of a antihistamine ( important for the inflammation side usually caused by any allergen) something like claratyne d. Use that until you can see your gp |
