Can someone help me with postage costs. When I get to checkout the postage always is more than the cost of the product but I thought for eg toys it was standard cost of $5.99 per shipment and $2.49 per pound. What am I doing wrong??
I'm trying to purchase some Disney cars items. Amazon says they weigh total 3lbs. At checkout cost of items are $55 and postage is $75!!!! Total cost $130!!! Why is postage so high? Someone help please!!! |

Are you buying from the third party or amazon itself?
I find if it comes from Amazon, it is generally cheaper (third parties can be horrendously dear). |

It's from an amazon store I think. How do I tell and if it is how do I buy from amazon direct?
Sorry I'm all new to this - DS is asking Santa for toys you cannot not get here - so I'm desperate!!! Also am I cutting it fine with arrival times??? |

On the product page, it will usually say:
In Stock. Ships from and sold by Amazon.com. Gift-wrap available. If it is sold by someone else (and it isn't always a bad thing, but can make postage unpredictable) In Stock. Ships from and sold by 'Another store name here'. |

Disneystore also have 20% off and they have lots of Cars gear, postage can be exxy but goes up in increments so if you play around you can usually get right up to the maximum before the postage cost jumps.
disneystore are also great with shipping time frames, even at this time of year |

I only buy sold and shipped by amazon. I find if I put anything bulky in basket postage gets too expensive eg big Nerf guns, MADD gear scooters, Razor 360 ride on thing. Also found the big things are often similar price at Toys R Us in aust.
I ordered 7 items of clothing last night. Just rashies and boardshorts. Postage was $33. Thought it would be cheaper cos I paid that amount for another order with 12 items of which there were two pair of school shoes and some weird shape toys like frisbies. No idea how they work it out. Size doesn't seem to be an issue, just weight, unless your item gets outside a certain measurement. |

It should do. I ordered some stuff yesterday and the latest mine is set to arrive is the 18th. I've never had any problem with late Amazon orders.

A couple of my items arrived today with an estimated shipping date of 5th December. They are definitely over estimating shipping so I wouldn't worry until the estimated delivery is after Christmas.
