Not sure if this has been done - tried search to no avail. sad.gif

We are deciding between these 2 phones. Note we are not an "Apple" family, have no ipods, ipads or macs.

So... pros ve cons? anyone know?

I have no experience with the Samsung, only iPhones.

I got the iPhone 5 a few months ago when it was released, and I love it. The biggest pro for me is the camera (I use the camera multiple times a day, every day), the quality is awesome. Other than the weight & size, I find it identical to the iPhone 4 (my previous phone), but I still prefer the 5. I'd never go anything else other than apple, but then we are an apple family, with plenty of apple devices wink.gif

I am an iphone girl and DH has a Samsung S2. Not sure so much about the latest release of the Samsung but my iphone 5 is just a whole lot smoother to operate (in terms of moving from screen to screen, how the apps work, games, taking photos, etc). I love the App Store and Itunes also.

But I am an Apple girl. Have an ipad and (had) an ipod. DH loves the Samsung.

If you have no Apple history then I would compare the devices side by side (lots of comparison sites, just google it) and choose which one you like best based on the feature list. But also definitely go in store and see how they operate. You may find you just like one more than the other.

DH has the S2, i have a galaxy tab (which realistically is just a big version of the phone), and we both love ours. DH has had his for over a year, and it still runs perfectly (and he is hard on phones), i've had my tab for almost 4 months, and haven't had an issue with it. i've found it easy to use, easy to navigate, and very, very easy to download apps/delete apps/generally get to the operations and make them work (finding networks etc).

The iPhone 5 is a joke... and getting feedback from apple people is dubious at best

Here's some reading material which indicates that getting the new iPhone is a poor investment.

I've got the Samsung Galaxy s3 4G and it's not that great battery-wise. But I have a (mostly)desk job and can charge it during the day if I need to.

I don't have iAnything, I love my Samsung.

We have a friend who researched for weeks and chose the Samsung.

My youngest wants an iphone though so am needing arguments to sway him.

That's interesting... I have an el-cheapo Samsung for my prepaid business phone and the battery life is incredible. I charge it about once a week.
