Hi all, i am 33 weeks pregnant and my poor hubby is sleeping on our couch every night at the moment, its not quite long enough for someone to lie down and he is getting a bad back and is tired all the time. I am desperate to get a decent sofabed which is comfortable for sitting on and sleeping on. Preferably it would have a high back and have wide enough cushions for two people to lie down together too. Please help!

We got one from Sofas Direct. A few have stayed and specifically mentioned how comfy it is despite being a sofa bed. From memory you can upgrade it to a slat bed, which is supposed to be better, but we went for the base model.

My DH actually owns a sofa bed shop (I wont advertise that), but the main stockist he uses (http://www.innovationliving.com.au/) stock elsewhere around Australia too, and they may have something suitable. But then again they may not. They are a little different than usual. These ones are also mid to high end so depends what you are looking for as the can be $$$. But in their range there are ones that are for 'everyday' sleeping (ie sprung mattresses etc), and those that are more for occasional use.

In the past we have also owned a Molmic brand one (which is a conventional style trifold thing), and it used to be great nd super comfy, but at 10yrs old it really is not comfortable anymore for sleeping (great looking sofa though)

The other option, if you are happy with your current sofa/ don't really need another one, would be something like an aerobed?

OP, just saw you are in Sydney - I think there there are 'Mastersofa' and 'Sofa bed specialists' who sell them - but I don't actually know what those shops themselves shops are like.

A friend of mine bought a King sofabed because her parents were staying overnight sometimes a few nights every week to help with the kids & she wanted good quality.

We have a traditional Moran one as well as an unusual/modern Italian one (unfortunately can't remember the brand).

You'll probably find that there's usually a trade-off between one that's comfortable as a bed vs as a sofa.

Inner-spring or latex mattresses are better than foam ones.
