So you think I would've asked this questions MONTHS ago...

Is there an easy way to tighten the straps on this car seat??

To loosen the straps we push the button and pull the straps, but we find that to tighten the straps, we have to put our hand in behind the seat and pull from there, and then pull the strap at the front.

Would love to know if there is an easier way and if so, why ours just won't tighten by pulling the front strap.

p.s. this was professionally fitted.

Not got a meridan but I'm another hand behind the back of the seat person. Used 3 different brands (different cars, grandparents etc) and the only way I can get it tight enough is hand behind seat. Glad I'm not the only one.

With our meridians we just push the button and pull the strap at the front and they tighten right up, should work easily sorry.

I have to do what you do OP and it drives me nuts. I was told by my sister that it would loosen up a bit over time but 2 years on and we still have the same problem. My sister's on the other hand (SNS but not a tilt and adjust) pulls so easily.

I recently put my friend's newborn DS in her sns t&a and commented on how easy it was to tighten the straps when it's in rear facing mode. She had no idea what I was talking about and never adjusted the straps - to the point when I had obviously done him up tighter than normal earlier in the day she didn't know how to loosen them and just popped him in with the straps undone on the way home! Quickly showed her how to adjust them both my cheat way and the regular way...

That's what we do with our rear facing meridian tilt and adjust too. Just push the button and pull the single strap below the button at the same time. Ours is the 2012 model.

I've had 2 of these and you're right, the straps are a nightmare to tighten. Easy enough to loosen but very hard to make tighter. You're not alone.

Yep, we have the same problem. I push the button in and then kind of pull and wiggle the strap - seems to work OK, does normally take a couple of goes though.
