What would be handy to pack to make the trip comfortable and entertaining for the kids?

I'd love to help - but need some more information.

How old are you're kids - how long will you be on the road for etc.

We're currently on day 4 of an 8 day road trip with my 5 and 3 year olds. The best things that we find are - stopping and l letting them run around every couple of hours - find a park pr something similar and let them blow off some steam.

we try and minimise the amount of stuff we take with us these days and really I just have some crayons and drawing stuff /stickers for each plus a favourite teddy type toy and one electronic type game and they manage to keep themselves amused with those. I usually take some snacks - cheese, freeze dried fruit etc.

If theres anything else you want help with let me know.

We've just come back from a nearly 4000km road trip with a 2 yo and almost 4yo. Colouring in, heaps of kid friendly music on my ipod (car has connectivity), and regular stops kept ours relatively happy. Make sure you have snacks / water bottles easily accesable. Also make sure you have something handy to contain rubbish. We learnt this the hard way, after spending half an hour trying to clean up peanut butter sandwich crumbs with a dustpan and brush!
