Hi everyone,
I've been to a vascular surgeon here in Perth, who says I need an ambulatory phlebectomy, to remove a large varicose vein from my leg. He has quoted me $3000, with a Medicare rebate of $500. Has anyone had this done? I'm just wondering if there is somewhere cheaper, we just cant afford $3000 at this stage............... Is it something I can have done through the public service? Thanks ! |

Have you considered sclerotherapy instead of surgical removal?
I had it performed after DS3's birth for a bad varicose vein in my left leg. It was much cheaper than the prices you have been quoted and probably far less painful. Only downside is a compression stocking for 6 weeks. |
