I don't normally support threads about scam alerts because I think they are pretty obvious

but a new one has come to my attention that I wouldn't be surprised might suck some businesses in.
When I googled, not much showed up, so I'm hoping that this thread will help those checking online to see if it's legit or not.

It did show up for Choice and they have a warning on their website.

Firstly your business receives a phone call from someone claiming to be from the Government doing a survey on your printer cartridge use. They are just phishing for details such as who to address the invoice to.
Later you will then receive an email with an invoice, asking for payment. This might be from "t12 stationery" which does have a registered ABN. (not sure if the registered company is connected to this scam),
Then you will receive a phone call, demanding payment by Close of Business.
They called one person, who was suspicious, and when asked what government department they were from (because government is local, state and federal.

) the person said something like "Der Canberra".
It's possible they called another section of this business and someone could have given out details of who the supplies contact person is.
