My big kids both read quite a bit and I'm trying to come up with ideas for books to buy for Christmas and also ones to look out for at the library.
12yo daughter had enjoyed: Harry potter series Twilight series Lemony snicket series Diary of a Wimpy Kid series I went through my own books (at her request) looking for something she could borrow and she read Marley & me, and also My Sister's Keeper (Jodi Picoult). I also let her read the new Jodi Picoult which she wrote with her daughter, which I think was written for that pre-teen age group. She would like to read some more Jodi Picoult, but I think most if them are just too old for her.
14yo son is a sports nut, and that influences his reading a lot. He loved the Specky Magee books when he was younger and also liked Diary of a Wimpy Kid. He has read a few biographies he liked, mostly cricket or footy players, but he read comedian Anh Do's autobiography and really enjoyed that.
Anyone have any suggestions to keep them entertained over the Summer holidays?
