I get a fair amount from centrelink around $5000 + per year i asked them not to pay it until after june, now its coming up to christmas and i could really do with some of the payments. Am i able to change my mind and have them pay me what i should have been paid in the last 6 months? Or will they only pay me what i should get each fortnight and pay the rest once taxes are done?

You'll only get your fortnightly entitlements from the date you change your choice. You won't get the balance until the end of the financial year.

But when you change your payments to fortnightly you can then apply for an advance payment.
