 Hallway lighting ideas needed |

We have not long ago built our house (circa 5 months) and currently still have the light globes sticking out of the ceiling in the two hallways. Desperately need to change these but havent to date as I dont know what to change them with.
Both hallways are narrowish though we have 9' ceilings. Does anyone have any suggestions (pics would be brilliant if possible)? Our house is contemporary and as we have made a feature of drum pendants in rooms that adjoin both hallways I dont want anything that would clash with those.l In hindsight we probably should have installed downlights in these areas..... |

How about track lights? Where you have 2,3 or 4 small lights on a rail. You can angle these lights in different directions which can highlight artwork if you have any but also throws subtle variations of light and shadow on the walls, which can work well in a long narrow space. Much more interesting than downlights I think.
