gifty type things for Great Grandmothers? My grandmother is impossible to buy for, so for Christmas I was just going to get her something "Great Grandmother". I don't really mind what it is - one of those little poem plaque things would be ideal, but I know finding anything with great grandmother is difficult. She also hates the term grandma, so although I've found a few with great grandma, she'd probably give it back to me and glare.

if anyone's seen anything around, either online or in stores, it would be much appreciated original.gif I'm in Sydney if that helps

Edit - I meant to put this in Miscellaneous ddoh.gif oops

Can't help you with what you are after - my only thoughts were perhaps you could get one from the markets in your local area if you have time between now and Christmas.

My other thoughts of what you could do for someone impossible to buy for - Movie voucher/gift card or send them to a high tea somewhere nice.

I'd try one of those little specialty gift shops.

There are a few things on Etsy that come up with a search of Grandmother including this Necklace which I thought was rather nice.

Can you get her a printed mug from Vistaprint (for example) You can put your own pictures / words on it and she can at least use it.

The first thing I thought of was those tiny china angels you can get in card and gift shops. You can get them with names on, or with teacher, aunt, godmother or grandma on them. I'm pretty sure they would have great grandma ones, too. My MIL is the same age as most GGMs, and doesn't need anything. I usually get her some tea from T2, with maybe a nice tea infuser.

Thanks everyone original.gif she really is a pain - she's 87, quite a homebody, doesn't like chocolate, only drinks one particular type of tea which is just a supermarket brand. really tricky.

Fanny, that necklace is lovely, but unfortunately she's a widow and has also lost her sons, so the wife and mother part would be a bit iffy I think. The vistaprint thing isn't a bad idea, will look into that. I've tried gift shops locally and they don't have great grandmother, only grandma or nana. Will try some a bit further afield though, because I've seen those little angels and think they'd be right up her alley

Do you mean the Willow Tree Angels by Demdaco? They are just beautiful and you can buy all sorts of groupings and figurines now, not just angels.

Here is a link to the grandparent ones. http://www.demdaco.com/Grandparents/106000...&brandId=WT

I usually get mine from Ebay. I find they have the best prices. I just google the title of the one I want, once I have had a good look through the above page.
