Does anyone know if it's possible to get a Personal Loan when the only income I have is FTB ?
The amount I need to borrow could easily be paid off in a year using only my FTB as payment but is there any banking institution that accepts that FTB as income. If it's any help I am in NSW. Edited to add: Our house is solely in my name but I allowed my D(not dear)H to put a mortgage on it to by our business 6 years ago. I am also wondering whether I can use that as a security on a personal loan when it is already being used as security for the business. This post has been edited by Sassy Girl: 07/12/2012, 10:03 AM |

Are you serious?
The only income you have is FTB and you want to get a personal loan?!?! I'm so glad my taxes will be paying off your personal loan. I certainly hope that whatever you need a loan for is life critical. ggggrrrrrr |

Your taxes which would be a small amount compared to the services you use pay for roads, public and private schooling, hospitals, infastructure. Get off your high horse. |

Just because your world is perfect, doesn't mean everyone elses world is. To answer your question OP - I had a small income, and FTB, I could not borrow the minimum ($4k) - it came down to the amount of dependants. But together with DH I was able to borrow far more, we just had to work it all out differently. |

I don't disagree - but where do you think FTB comes from (at least part of it)?
I do have an issue with people living beyond their means and expecting a handout from the Government to subsidise it. For the record, I pay private health insurance (I have never used a public facility), I don't have children in school and I don't receive any government assistance what so ever (and never have). |

We work 70 hours a week yet only earn $32000- a year combined (do you work that many hours for such little money) in our own business. My husband is financially abusive so I am not allowed any access to any money from the business. As for what the loan is for it's really non of your damn business. Anyway it's for my children who my DH is also the father of but will not provide for. |

BubblyGal, I hope you never need those handouts for your future. You couldn't sound more a-holey if you tried.

They will probably look at equity in the home. E.g. if your home is worth $400000 and you owe $50000 against it then it's less likely to be an issue.
