Hi Please re-direct to the appropriate place I was not to sure what section to put this in.

I have been putting off writing this but have deiced to just bite the bullet.

Ok so brief history. My DH had a vacetomy 5 years ago. I have lost 30kgs in the past year and a half. By no means am I under weight (165cm and 63-64kgs). I do have ongoing undiagonised hyper thyroid issues that are being looked at (how ever I have had this for the past 5 years and never missed or had a light period)

So to the now, I started my period right on 28 days started as normal although a little lighter than the horrible gushes I used to get. My period only lasted 2 days. Did not get anywhere near as heavy as it normally does. probably day four I had some sticky discharge with a bit of brown blood and that was it, I have had a little more discharge than normal and it has been a little more sticky too.

Anyone know what could have caused this, or have experienced the same? I do not feel I need to run of to the Dr but I am a little worried.

I had a similar cycle lat month and I too have lost 35kg since feb this year. Maybe it is the weightless finally having a small affect on your cycle?
I still have a lot too loose, another 25 kg to get to what my BMI says I should be but only 10 to what I was as a teen.

I am guessing pregnancy is out of the question since your husband had a vasectomy, but I have heard some stories about the vasectomy failing occasionally. No real evidence just from here and there over the years so I may be wrong.

I was not pregnant so my only other guess was it had to do with my weight loss.

If it concerns you then go to the dr,that's what they are there for.

Weight loss can have a big impact on your cycle, it can take a while for your body to adjust. I would mention it to your endocrinologist. Good luck.

I would say this is related to your thyroid condition..you mentioned hyper thyroid?
I've had a swinging thryoid..mostly underactive(which I am getting treatment for) but have had hyper-thyroidism. Periods are short and very light..sometimes non-existant. That brown you talk about relates to the begining of your period....

Best talk to your dr and have some blood tests to see what your thyroid levels are..All very treatable too.
