My ent specialist told me to get a ct scan done. So I did a ct scan and shows right thyroid lobe is enlarged and contains two nodules 1.6cm. Moderate opacification within paranasal sinuses. I did the test the same day. I got the results myself and he didnt see the results and the appoinment with him is in feb. I also have another barium swallow test.

Should i make appointment to see earlier to show the ct scan results or it can wait till feb?

What happens next?

Do i need surgery? How big does the nodules be to have surgery?

Stronger than ever.
It will probably depend on what is causing the problem, I expect. I have had my thyroid removed due to Graves' diesease.

If you do need surgery, just make sure that you have an experienced surgeon, if you have private insurance you should be able to choose your own surgeon. The main possible complication of the surgery as I understand it is damage to the parathyroid glands, which fortunately I managed to avoid. I am now on lifelong medication of course but as long as my dose is correct, there are no side effects.

If I were in your position I'd get an earlier appointment (if possible), to get action as early as possible, and to ease my mind about what the results actually mean.

Good luck original.gif
