> Can I update software on an original iPad?

If I can, I can't figure out how. When I plug it into my PC there's just no option for software update!

Really really p*ssed off. I can't download any off the good apps as almost everything is only compatible with iOS4 or higher!

It's only 2 years old, bought just before the iPad 2 was released, cost $900 (3G version) and is now pretty much obsolete except for web browsing!

Try going into "settings" then software update - I just checked ours and it looked for an update then said no update available, already running iOS5.

DH normally does this kind of thing so if that doesn't work I can ask how he's updated. Ours is older than yours so he's definitely updated somehow!

The original iPad cannot be updated to iOS6.
