This is a bit freaky maybe. Our nearly 8 year old ( next week) was watching Stuart Little 3 on TV tonight and at the end there's a kissing scene and he suddenly said to everyone "when I see kissing I think of love and my penis gets fat". And we were like and he continued and said, "whenever i think of love and kissing my penis gets fat". And after a quick horrified exchanged look between DH and me I said " Darling , it's natural and it's ok to tell your family, but you shouldn't talk about your private parts to everyone, they are personal".

But what to make of this? Is he over sexualised or is this normal for his age? My other children never came out with anything like this!
He is definitely not being abused, he isn't shy, just very open and free. he loves to run around naked, quite comfortable with his body. I don't want to be prudish, but I can't quite cope with him talking about erections at so young an age!

My thinking is it is completely normal, but you may need to concentrate on appropriate time and place for discussing things.
Maybe emphasize again about private and public information.
It is good he's comfortable talking about it with you though.

Perfectly normal - I just tell my Ds that is all normal but private. He can come and ask all the facts of life and we chat about all sorts of stuff.
