Looking for some ideas for my dd who has just turned 11 in Nov.
I've been wracking my brains for weeks trying to come up with what to get her for xmas. I have a few small things - some ps3 games she wanted (they are older ones she got the new one in the series for her birthday) ,i tunes voucher, a couple of dvds and a nail polish kit (she loves painting them up) and I have a new razor scooter on reserve to pick up (she is keen for this) but other than that I'm at a loss. she not one to have a wish list and the standard answer is " I don't know" . She never really asks for much and doesn't really get much during the year, so I do like to make her birthday and xmas special with a little extra. she likes art / craft, animals, computer games and has an ipod, ds etc any ideas ? Anyone bought for a 10 -12 year old girl ? This post has been edited by choccy2: 13/12/2012, 11:52 AM |

I just posted this idea in another thread but might be helpful for you as well. How about giving her an experience type gift eg; Movie Tickets/Day Spa/Manicure/Adventure park/Concert tickets/High Tea what ever takes her fancy, then you can go and have a girly day/evening together.

My DD#1 is 13 and DD#2 & DD#3 are 9.
You reminded me of something I forgot. My girls want nail polish that apparently changes colour depending on your mood. My girls are all getting new scooters from their grandma which they will love. DD#1 loves Owls and Paris (Effiel Tower) stuff so she is getting things in those themes. Like a quilt set, cushion, some ornaments and lamp. DD#2 & DD#3 just got pillow pets and nice new beach towels, bags and cameras for their birthday. What about Smiggle or Typo stuff? eta: I have also been thinking of Luna Park passes. If we buy them before the 23rd (I think) of December then we will get an extra year free. So 2 years for $99 which is good. This post has been edited by mumto3princesses: 13/12/2012, 11:57 AM |

That colour changing nail polish sounds good - great for stocking filler - do you know where to get it ??
I forgot to add - she has waaaayyy too much Smiggle stuff - she got gift vouchers and gift cards from relies and friends for her birthday and spent quite a lot of it at Smiggle lol I like the experiences idea too - though I have already bought tickets to Pink for us for next year - though to be honest that was as much my present to me as to her !! lol This post has been edited by choccy2: 13/12/2012, 12:02 PM |

LOL mine too!
My twins just had their birthday too and now have tons of smiggle stuff. And DD#3 still begged DD#1 and DD#2 to buy her smiggle for christmas. LOL |

I'm not sure. Maybe Gloss? I will have to ask DD#1.

Books .. my 11yr old is a really big reader.
Something for her room .. a fluffy pillow, mirror/print for the wall, etc Clothes Beach towel, beach bag Jewelry Craft kit of some sort - you can ones to make/build pretty much anything. Science type kit - ranging from the ulta girly (make your own perfume/lip gloss) through to more serious ones. I was in the Australian geographic shop the other day, and saw heaps of things I'd love to get my girls (crystal growing stuff, grow your own bonsai tree, magic kits etc) |

Sounds like you already have heaps for her, but she sounds a bit like I was at that age. I loved 1500piece jigsaw puzzles, and any craft kits for making things. Getting the materials together for craft activities was usually a drag unless I had been gifted some complete kit.
