I've been using childcare for 2 years but still get confused. I understand the CCR and it gets paid to ME in a lump quarterly. No worries.
But I also get the CCB and I honestly cannot understand. I havent been able to get through to Centrelink but online it says I should only be paying about $50pw to my career but Ive been paying $150. Has anyone had confusing situations like this where they accidently overpay the carer? I also think my CCB is going to my carer rather than me...confused over options etc... |

Hi
What is your daily rate? Are you with a centre or family daycare? Your maximum amount of CCB is I think is $195, over 60 hours. This works out at $39 per day in a centre. If you're in FDC you usually get a higher rate as long as you dont go over 37.5 hours....but regardless...CCB will NEVER get paid to you! It is always paid to your service provider/carer. CCR, yes it is paid either quarterly into your account or it is paid to your carer to reduce your fees.... But it really depends on your circumstances and what you are being charged. Ask your centre for a breakdown of fees if you are concerned! Good luck! Lyn |

CCB is a weekly fee reduction. You get a percentage based on your family income (it's NOT a straight percent of the fees, but part of a formula). It is paid directly to the childcare centre , you pay what is left.
CCR is 50% of the amount you pay after CCB. Capped at approx $7500 per child per year. Lots of payment options these days - either as a lump sum annually, or quarterly. Or fortnightly, paid either to you or direct to the centre. You should be getting some sort of receipts/invoices/statement from your centre - mine always showed the full fee, and the CCB amount, and the gap payment I actually paid. |
