I needed to read this today. I slept about 4 hours last night (2nd night in a row). DS had a tantrum during his swim lessons (he loves swimming, but isn't so keen on following instructions mad.gif ). I didn't have time to do my own workout again. Nearly had some idiot turn into me after leaving YMCA and they tooted me (I had right of way, but hey minor detail rolleyes.gif ). Haven't managed to get any housework done and DS is running around without pants AGAIN (it's winter here and cold). He is also eating the gluten free lemon cake I baked yesterday and spreading crumbs from one room to another - I needed a snack for him and I am out of corn or rice cakes (Luckily dog is "cleaning up most of the crumbs)! Due to my head feeling like someone ran into my face with a bulldozer I have let him watch waaaay too much TV. I am feeling homesick and missing my family. I decided I just needed to sit and was feeling like crying - this article came up on Facebook. It is a great reminder that we can only do our best as parents.
Why you're never failing as a mother

I thought I should share - just in case anyone else is having a "I am a Crappy Parent" day. wink.gif

Ooo Bearbait hhugs.gif - it's only about 7c here, so relatively warm. Plus at least today it's sunny (yesterday was cold and rainy). Winter blues suck.. but knowing family is far away is so much harder

I often feel bad because I just CBF with so much stuff... I will try not to, now.

OP your sig says USA since Oct 2012? Is this your first time away? After all my excitement to get somewhere new I found first 3 months really tough (homesick) & it took me a good year to settle into the new way of life.
Have flown my mum & DHs mum over for visits - that has been excellent.
