I posted about this a few months back but it happened again and I'm not sure what to do.
My 6 year old Maltese x had a seizure of some sort today. He salivates, body shakes and contorts and he can't walk. It went for at least five minutes today but didnt witness it from the start so not sure how long in total, last time as I came when it was already going I don't know how long but probably five plus minutes. Last time we went straight to vet a few minutes away but by the time we got there he had stopped and was only trembling a little and panting. The vet did bloods which showed nothing. She couldn't tell me why it could of been and didn't seem overly concerned. Within minutes of it stopping he is fine totally back to normal. So any suggestions? It is horrible seeing him like it and I can only assume that it is happening more frequently than I am aware of an I hate the thought of him being alone when it happens as he looks so scared. |

My MIL dog had the same thing. The vet put her on medication to stop the seizures which worked probably 95% of the time. I don't think the vet was 100% sure what it was but thought epilepsy.
Unfortunately about 3 weeks ago, she had a massive seizure and was rushed to the vet, this seizure she never really came out of and she died about an hour after it first started. Maybe you could suggest anti seizure medication to your vet. |

My dog started having seizures about 8 yrs ago. Tests reveiled nothing. The vet declared him
As epileptic and put him on daily mess. He still has a seizure maybe once or twice a year. It is horrible to watch. I also suggest asking for anti seizure meds |
