last night I had BFF, her dh and their kids over or dinner. BFF told me that she had been going through the kids clothes and had found a pair of shorts too small for her dd, they were only $5 Kmart ones, but would I like to have them for dd2 to grow into. I said thanks and put them down so I could get dinner ready.

had a great night and then as they were leaving BFF asked if I had the $5 for the shorts. knowing I had no money on me, I scrounged around and came up with $3. BFF picked up the shorts and told me not to worry, she is catching up with J & N tomorrow, she will see if either of them are interested in them!

dh and I burst out laughing once they left, seriously, who would do that over a $5 pair of shorts!

OMG if the $5 is really that important to her maybe she should return them to kmart (if it still has the price tag on them) and get all her money back.

That is just stingy.

roll2.gif WOW!!!

That reminds me of a few weeks ago. DH picked up something for our neighbour that cost $895. DH had to go and pick it up for him so it took time and fuel to get. When the neighbour came to pick it up he handed DH $900 cash and then stood there looking stupid. DH asked if he was ok and he said "well are you going to get me my $5 change?". He was dead serious! ffear.gif

Some people gift on others charge... Neither bothers me.

After a few mix ups I always ask now if people expect payment. I also make it clear when I gift on stuff that I do not expect it back as I keep the stuff I want for sentimental reasons...
