In the past we have given a small box of chocolates and a Christmas card, Ds is in yr 2 now, im not sure whether or not to give a gift or Ds write a special card ( not sure if it should be a christmas card or thankyou card?), with some special words of thanks from him. Do youre children give their teacher a gift at the end of the year or just a card?

Always a gift. I also get DS to write a special card telling the teacher of his favourite moments from the year.

Every since my children were in daycare/preschool, we have always given gifts to all of the teachers/key staff. I always write a heartfelt note for each -- and my daughter, who is old enough to write notes, also writes a little something.

My kids have had extraordinary care and teaching over the years. It is a total pleasure to take time to personally thank the people who have delivered it!
