took the kids to get their Santa photo yesterday and saw the best Santa move ever.

mother with her 4 kids, youngest about 4-5. the youngest freaked out when it was time to go up to Santa. so Santa gets up explaining to the kids that he will be back in a minute, moves behind the sleigh. mum sits on santas seat gets surrounded by her kids, holding youngest child (now pacified), facing away from side of the display. photographer gets ready, motions for Santa, Santa quietly moves in the side, behind the boy, sticks his head in the photo and waves. photo over, child led a way none the wiser, wondering why the entire queue are laughing.

Santa did this for my DD last year. She was v happy to see him from a distance but wasn't having a bar of sitting on or next to him with or without me there. We did a lap of the booth and came back to sit on the sleigh while Santa photo bombed the shot!

I have seen it done a few times at our shopping center.

Last year my 2 year old was a little scared of Santa. Our Santa has a little seat in front of his chair, so DD sat on that and looked at me standing behind the photographer. We got a beautiful photo of the three girls and DD was happy.

I have a few friends on facey that have added photos similar to this - with Santa peeking around the corner. They are all from Perth. I thought it was a great idea.

Oh wow, great idea! I'll have to find a photo-bombing Santa for next year. Dd2 was not having a bar of Santa this year. She wouldn't even let me hold her and stand next to him.

I had a very similar experience when we took DD1 for her first Santa photo (she was 11 mo). The photographer got me to walk backwards towards the sleigh, so that she couldn't see him. We got a great pic with me, her and Santa, then my mum, sister, Aunty and cousin jumped in, got another fantastic photo before we let DD1 look to her left where Santa was, cue tears.

We tried something similar this year for DD2's first Christmas, but it didn't quite work as I had the two girls to wrangle this time, so the photo has mum and I smiling, DD1 looking very serious, having been consoled after she cried, and DD2 screaming her nut off because someone (my mum) other than me is holding her. Great memories!

Yep. Santa did that for me when both my twins were little. He was fantastic.

The Santa display was a chair and the big tree behind him. DD#1 wanted to see him and wanted a photo and I went up to him first with DD#1 and told him her twin sisters were too scared. He spoke to DD#1 first and then told her and her sisters he was just going to go for a little walk because he had been sitting down for a long time and if they wanted to they could have a photo in his chair while he was gone. He waved and walked around behind the christmas tree. The girls thought they were so special getting to sit in his chair.

Then he snuck in behind the chair for the photo and went back around the tree before the girls realised. To this day they still can't figure out how he got in the photo when he wasn't there. Rather than figuring out he sneaked in the photo they decided he did it because he is magic. LOL

That is brilliant. Our Santa photo from last year only had one child in it, because three out of four bailed on me! I need a photo bombing Santa
