So I read no anti virus needed, but what about malware / Trojans etc? I may DL stuff ph34r.gif and don't want to kill the new mac.

I've been using a Mac for the last 2 years. Best move I ever made. Haven't used any malware program's. nothing for Trojans, no antivirus, just enjoyed the freedom!

I may DL stuff too... And I've never needed anything extra. Had my iMac for 18 months, MacBook for 3 years before that

Congratulations though original.gif a new iMac is almost as exciting as a new baby Tounge1.gif

I could possibly be in the DL club. It would be done on the iMac if I were to ever do that. ph34r.gif

All I can say is that we've never had a problem with our iMac. We've had it for four years and before that we've been using Macs since 2005. Not once in that time have we had virus protection.

Prior to that we up to date virus protection for our PC and had no end of problems with viruses. We lost everything on the PC.

Have fun with your new iMac.

If you are using torrents to illegally download, then you deserve every bit of malware you could conceivably get.

I have to say that I never feel sorry for people who do the above and have malware and Trojans and lose everything.

Have mac.. Have no virus, Trojan or malware issues.

Out of curiosity for those so scornful of torrents. Have you ever borrowed a book? Or bought a second hand one?

Did you pay the author a royalty? Do they know you read their book?

I was going to post something similar. I hope those who wrote those spiteful posts have never had someone give them a copy of a CD or book.
