I have always cooked the turkey in an oven bag, but this year I am trying just sticking it in the oven and I have brushed it with butter and oil. It is one of those buffe turkeys, so I hope it turns out O.K. without an oven bag. Is there anything else I should do while it is cooking - like baste it? unsure.gif

Just baste it with juices every 30 mins or so. do you have a roasting pan so the turkey can sit on a rack above a pan?

I am cooking the turkey in one of those throw away aluminium trays and yes, it does have rack type things on the bottom. Going for another baste now.
