We're taking the kids to the Gold Coast for a holiday and will be there for New Years Eve.

Does anyone know if they have a fireworks display and/or any family oriented events on? We're staying in Southport and are hoping there will be something we can walk to but we do have a car if we need to drive.

Broad beach usually does a 9pm fireworks display with a bit if a family thing along the foreshore. Just stay away from surfers!

We spend every second year at main beach. We are not very exciting though. Usually the restaurants will do a set menu and some sort of entertainment. There are usually early fireworks for the kids. They then expire at around 9:30pm and we go back to our apartment and have a drink until the midnight fireworks which we watch from the balcony and then go to bed. Usually to the sound of gunfire on cavil avenue original.gif
