I found this cute maxi skirt on a blog and am going to try and copy it, but can't figure out what fabric to buy.
http://icandyhandmade.blogspot.com.au/2012...tched-maxi.html Went to Spotlight this morn thinking that a basic striped knit would be easy to find, but their range of stretch fabric was pretty limited to plain solids and felt REALLY thin, so I'm now looking online. Can anyone recommend what kind of stretch fabric I should be searching for on etsy, Fabric.com or Hawthorne Threads etc. Should I be searching "knit", "jersey", "interlock", "stretch"??? Looking for something light enough to wear in summer/autumn weather, but obviously don't want it so light it's see-through!! I've only ever taken up a couple of hems using stretch fabric, but I do have a walking foot to use. Thanks! |

You'll want something a bit heavier than jersey, it's quite thin and super stretchy. It looks like the fabric she has used has a bit of body to it. I'd use something like Stella, though it might be a bit clingy. Or even a double knit You can find nice stretch fabric at crafty mamas, knit wit, earth girl
