Some campsites don't require booking.

I can recommend Mystery Bay near Narooma, you don't have to book for that, there are fees but as I recall they are quite reasonable, and you are 5 mins walk from the beach.

I would say almost definitely too late but all you can do is try.

The first time we went camping for Christmas. We booked in October and it was the 5th caravan park I tried as all the rest were full.

This is our fourth year camping, we like most people keep the same booking year after year which is why it's so hard to find somewhere to stay at this time of year.

Good luck, I hope you find somewhere with a vacancy.

also depends on what kind of site you want. I know we have had this issue in getting a powered site but a few places have said no issues if we want a non powered tent site. Give a few places a call and see.
