Hi, I have had a special photo emailed to me and it is in pdf, adobe format, that you open to view. Can someone please tell me if there is a way to convert it to normal format, so i can back it up to usb drive and have it printed. I'm not sure how to do it, thankyou

I think you need adobe software to do that Im afraid. Otherwise try save as, and then use the drop down menu to select the way you want to save it. Im not sure itll work though.

Why not just print the pdf? The whole idea of pdf is that it prints as displayed. You can save the pdf to a usb drive and you should be able to get it printed in the shop, although I haven't come across many places that will let you upload a pdf for online printing.

You could also try taking a screenshot (using alt-Printscreen), then copying it into Paint or similar, cropping, then saving as a jpg.

However, you will probably lose the image quality and come up with something that won't print nicely. Really, the best option is to ask for the original image.

Often people will provide images and documents in pdf format specifically to make it difficult to copy the content and use elsewhere. Maybe it's deliberate.

You can copy the picture and paste it in a publisher document.

Do you have Photoshop Elements (or Photoshop)? You can open a pdf in that and save as jpg.

Other photo editing might have similar, or PS may be special since its Adobe.

I would probably take a screen shot of either just the photo or the whole thing and crop it and save as a jpg

Thanks for youre suggestions, I did actually manage to save it to a jpg. now on windows live, but the trouble it its very small, so it appears it has been compressed to sent via pdf. I havn't printed one out yet so i dont know if a 6 x 4 photo would be clear or not. I think to get a good quality image i will have to see if i can find out who took the original photo.

At its a special photo a a close family member we sadly lost recently, so id really like a copy of it.

Hi if you'd like to send me the pdf I will see if I can extract the image as a jpeg for you in photoshop. Send me the largest version you have. PM me with the pdf attached if you'd like me to help you out. It's totally no trouble.
