I've only recently had to sign up for Centrelink online services and, as someone who rarely needs to contact Centrelink, it's a PITA. I'd rather speak to a person and get the answer I need straight away, rather than wade through a ton of info on a website to find an answer to my questions. Which leads me to my question for Eb; I submitted online claim forms for FTB back in November and their status is showing as 'submitted'. How long does it normally take for online claims to process? Have they processed? I imagine the status would be something other than 'submitted' if they had processed?

From November I would have assumed it would be in and completed by now, don't stuff about online, give them a call or go in in person and sort it out that way, much less painful.

After all the screw ups on their website I never do anything like that over the phone or online, I take it straight into the office, that way I can be right there and watch them sorting it out so that I know it is done properly.

I had to change our income estimate, tried to do it online and even though I put in that DH would be earning more it came up that they would be paying more more per fortnight than when we were on the lower pay bracket, I had to go in to sort it out, took the woman 20mins to figure out the glitch and fix it (thank god I noticed though or I would have had a huge huge bill at tax time).

I did a submission for CCB (for my daughters private Kindy) in June and by the end of September I was still waiting. Rang them up and apparently you can only have one claim at a time. So they cancelled that claim to put my FTB lump sum through.

When I asked why they do that and don't reactivate the original they didn't have an answer! They just wait for people to ring and ask...... Have you submitted any other sort of claims?

You should ring them - you won't be able to find that answer online.

OP I'm in the same boat - submitted a FTB claim in November and still sitting as submitted status online. I will prob give them a call tomorrow hopefully not having to wait too long - usually the wait is over 30mins on the phone !

I'm still waiting too; my FTB claim went in end of October.
I guess I'll have to pull up a cuppa and a good book, and call and wait.

Good to know it's not just me who can't figure it out, sucks to hear that the online services aren't all they're make out to be. I did actually call Centrelink a number of times before lodging online, but no one I spoke to would help, they all directed me to online. Grr.

I'm having a massage tomorrow afternoon, I might call Centrelink beforehand so I can take advantage of de-stressing in the afternoon.

OP - did you have any luck calling - tried getting through was on hold for ages then my phone cut out so tried again and it was engaged - grrr

I love online services and the only problem I've ever had is when I got a HCC I wasn't expecting. Checked and I had left a 0 off DH's estimate. I find the smartphone app good too.

That said I know when I called they are running at a very high level of claims and so taking more than the usual three weeks FTP process but two months is a long time, I'd call.
