I have been given a prescription for the mini pill as I am breastfeeding. I am prone to skin break-outs and it sounds like one of the potential side effects is acne so I am wondering if this is the best contraception for me.

If you have taken the mini pill did you notice if your skin was worse, better or no difference?

Thanks in advance for you replies.

Indecision is the key to flexibility
Hi. I've been on the minipill for about 6 months now. I haven't noticed any difference in my skin.

You could always start taking it, see if you have any major side effects, and stop if you have to. Because you have to take it daily, I'm guessing it doesn't really stay in your system for long, or build up. Complete non medical opinion though! wink.gif

I have found my skin to be similar to what it was when not on the combined pill or pregnant (Prior to TTC I was on the Yasmin for both contraception and skin breakouts).

Mine was worse. I didn't seem to suit me at all. I started back on Yasmin as soon as I finished breastfeeding.
