For years I have been getting what I describe as electric shocks under my toe nails. Usually it only happens a few times a year, and even though it is very painful it has been very infrequent so no real need to do anything about it. However the last 24hours have been the worst it has ever been. It is even waking me up, and is quiet unbearable during the minute or so attack. My question is has any one else experienced anything like it? Any idea what's caused it?

I get it in one foot, and it was caused by nerve damage during surgury on the ankle. For me (and yours may be caused by something different), there is not cure or remedy, I just have to wait it out.

Thanks for sharing your experience, I haven't had an surgery but have had trouble with my feet on and off for the past 18 months, not sure if they are connected though?
