No don't vacuum Mummy!!
(I hasten to add, she was not chased after with the vacuum, she follows me around the house.) Now, I need to go wipe the slobber off the vacuum |

LOL. I love your dog, and your rug!
I have labradors. The other day I cornered one in the bedroom with the vacuum cleaner and he jumped onto the bed (very much forbidden!) to avoid it. Poor little dear is terrified of the vacuum. We were horrified when the breeder told us his registered name is Cream Puff, but it really suits him. |

Elly is totally right. You should not be doing housework, you should be sitting in the shade, with a long tall, iced drink of some sort.

My dog who is not fussed by lightening, thunder, knocks on the door etc etc etc absolutely HATES the spin cycle on the washing machine.... goes ballistic at it.
The upside of this is I never forget that I have a load of washing in, ever. She also hates it when we clip our nails - she can be downstairs at the back of the house watching TV with me and DH can be in the upstairs bedroom with the door shut and the fan on (we experimented) and she will still go bananas |

our older (well 3yo) girl is like that with the vacuum, broom. mop. any sprays etc. Needless to say housework is not done with her inside
ETA - I just watched it again to show DH that we aren't the only ones & our dog was trying to catch your vacuum too This post has been edited by emnut: 03/01/2013, 06:43 PM |

DF chose the rug actually! Luckily we moved into a house that is cream with blue accents and they continued that colour theme in the loungeroom so it coordinates. It is so beautiful and soft, but I want to change the colour scheme of our loungeroom and the rug won't fit in, so I am hoping when we move we buy a house that has a few living areas so we can put it somewhere hehehe Omg I love your rotti she is so cute Elly does it to the mower too! In fact DF had to very quickly hit the stop one time when mowing because she picked up one of the front wheels and pulled and had it 1ft off the ground! She tries to nip the front wheels of the pocket bike when DSD rides it, but luckily she is very well behaved so if we call her back she will come (Elly that is, though DSD is very well behaved too heheh.) Elly is totally right. You should not be doing housework, you should be sitting in the shade, with a long tall, iced drink of some sort. I know, right? Luckily she also loves sleeping I'd be listening to your pet, housework is horrible stuff. btw your dog is so cute. Thank you! We think so too My dog who is not fussed by lightening, thunder, knocks on the door etc etc etc absolutely HATES the spin cycle on the washing machine.... goes ballistic at it. The upside of this is I never forget that I have a load of washing in, ever. She also hates it when we clip our nails - she can be downstairs at the back of the house watching TV with me and DH can be in the upstairs bedroom with the door shut and the fan on (we experimented) and she will still go bananas It's strange isn't it? Our two sleep through fireworks and thunder etc too... but apparently the vacuum is evil hehehe Elly and Ethan should hang out. Ethan hates the vacuum too. He used to love it. Until ben tried to vacuum up his lunch off his shirt Elly would love to hang out with Ethan! She is so funny with little kids she lies like a statue and doesn't move much so she doesn't scare them heheh She does the same thing with kittens when we bring them home, all you can see is her eyes moving, the rest of her is statute still our older (well 3yo) girl is like that with the vacuum, broom. mop. any sprays etc. Needless to say housework is not done with her inside ETA - I just watched it again to show DH that we aren't the only ones & our dog was trying to catch your vacuum too They really are funny creatures! Of course the funniest thing is that one of our cats LIKES the vacuum and last time Mum vacuumed a couple of weeks ago, she sat ON the vacuum and had a ride! I told DF I want to get a roomba as a cat toy and he looked at me like I was insane... Though I need to wait until we are in a house that is 1 level, as we have a few steps and glass doors in the internal part of our house. |

I only need to get the vacuum out, and the dog runs off and hides, preferably outside.
She isn't fond of a plain broom either, and will reverse out of the room when I'm sweeping. Perhaps it's shame, since she is usually the reason I am sweeping or vacuuming i.e. all the hair. (edited typo) This post has been edited by dogged: 04/01/2013, 07:50 AM |
