I am currently trying to piece together my dad's ancestory....without a lot of success.
My dad has since passed and his ancestory is sketchy.
He wasn't born here and I dont want to give too many details at the moment...as I am trying to determine what nationality my grandmother would be(or could she be mixed).

I am enclosing a photograph of her as a younger woman.
As I had an older dad my grandmother was born just before the 1900's and married in 1920.

All I know is that she had red hair.

Do you know where to get her death certificate? It will have her place of birth on it.

Some sort of european decent is my guess. I'd say the surname would say more than the photo. Good luck!

Dutch - interesting.....a lot of people mistook my dad for Dutch.

No - I only just found her marriage details on LDS(Ancestory) so I must get her death certificate. Not sure how to go about that just yet.

Ok. My dad was born in India but his dad was Greek and my grandmother (so he was told) was Scottish.
She married my Grandfather in India but did live in Greece for some years where she gave birth to my two uncles.

Shopalot you are right - Scottish...

I have found some other info regarding a family who had a similar name - they were part Armenian. I guess I am wanting to know if my grandmother could have been part Armenian.

Yes I was thinking European, Dutch or Czechoslavakian maybe. I agree that if you have a surname for her that would help. Obviously her maidan name. Good luck!!
