we are guests to a church wedding south of WA in october, DP is groomsman (full suit)

i have never been to a church wedding so what the hell do i wear! im a size 20-22 most of it the top half.

the weather down south can be quite cold so would i just take a jacket?

we are getting a family photo done so i really would like to look nice.

also i cant wear heels unless im sitting down LOL

Unless its specified it would be semi-formal like any wedding. Are there really that few done in church now that people don't know what to wear?

3of my friends and myself have all gotten married In the last 2 yrs,none of us had a church wedding. I would have no idea what to wear...

You can wear whatever you like, however if it were me I'd wear a dress or a skirt. Depending on the dress code as to how formal I'd go. If there's no dress code & you can't ask them, go by how formal the invite is.

If my DH were groomsman, I'd go a little more formal than normal, sober could get some nice photos together.

You could go a short heel, or even a heel for photos & take flats?

My cousin is having a garden wedding & I have a knee length black lace dress. I want to find hot pink heels, but I'll also take flats or thongs rather than bare feet. LOL

i would wear some sort of maxi and small wedges... iv only ever been to garden weddings though...

i should add i love my "arty" and "hippie" store clothes but i also love a lace detail with lots of colour...

she is wearing full white dress with big train and the colours are garden greens, off whites (so i dont match)

The church weddings I have been to ate more formal in general then other weddings. Whilst we had a minister do our wedding it was not in a church, I know some of the guests would not have worn the length or cleavage they did if it had been in the church. But where I am from you dress modest for church not too short and not too boobie for a start.

Pretty much the same as any other wedding, except I would probably dress up a bit more if our partner is a groomsman - get some lovely photos done!

Probably not a short skirt unless you have great legs and want to show them off! probably not a singlet top or anything too low/skimpy.
