Well as someone called Melanie who had measles as a child (because I am very old and the vaccination was not yet available) I am here to tell you there was no 'dancing in the garden showing off my rash', nor was there any 'melon and carrot juice to help me get better'.

There was days and days of fever, slipping in and out of consciousness and obvious family worry - when I toddled out to the kitchen unannounced when my fever broke and asked "Can I have an egg?" my very reserved family burst into tears !

Nothing 'marvellous' at all!

Yeah, that's been out for a while. The anti-vax loonies love it. I bet all the parents in Africa who have no access to vaccines don't think it's so marvelous when their children die. Nor do parents like me, who have a child to young to be vaxxed and will be holding my breath until she is done. Those who don't vax for no other reason than "I've read the research (aka. jumped on the AVN bandwagon with the rest of the tin foil hat conspiracy theorists) make me sick.

Had this codswallop linked to me last night on the dreaded FB:

http://vactruth.com/2013/01/06/paralyzed-a...ngitis-vaccine/

I don't understand why parents don't want to protect their children. I've cried every time my son gets jabbed, worse than him. I still bloody take him because he is healthy and able to be immunised. Not every parent has that luxury.

Every time my child gets a free set of vaccinations, I buy these for those not so fortunate.

That women is obviously dealing with a very sad event in her life and trying to find answers in the wrong place. In doing so she is putting other children at risk . sad.gif

That is just freaking crazy!!

I have actually considered leaving EB in protest when I noticed that we now have a sub forum for non vax support!
Fairfax ought to be ashamed. Or perhaps sued when a parent is mislead into non vaxing and their child sufferers terribly from a preventable disease.
