Hi, DS1 who is 6 received an ipod touch for Christmas. This is our first foray into any type of gaming system and I'm finding it difficult to sift through all the games to find the good ones!
Just wondering if anyone can help with some names of games their 6-7yr old boy enjoys. I am looking for some educational and some "just for fun"! Thanks so much in advance! |

Angry birds. You can get a free one with a limited number of levels so you can see if your sone likes it before paying for th $2 one, quite a few games have a short free version. There are a lot of free games but they often have advertising at when the game ends that you will need to teach your son to bypass.
Some others are Rush Hour (slide various cars around to allow a red car access to move out) and Plants Vs Zombies. Lego have some kids games. I'm not sure about educational ones but while searching for games there is an educational category. There are plenty of memory match games (matching pairs of cards) too. DD8 likes the Talking animals that mimic you. Talking Ginger and Talking Angela - NO educational value!
DD6 likes Phonics Hero (educational reading app) and Talking Ginger, she also liked Cut the Rope for a while. Enjoy! |

DD, who is nearly 6 likes bugs and bubbles, which has a number of different games on it, some of which are a little childish, but some of which are good. She's also quite fond of bubble bust and Order Up (although anything beyond the first level is a little to advanced for her). If he's OK at reading, Bookworm is another good one, although DD gets a little frustrated when she can't find words quickly enough.

Search McGraw-Hill in the app store, they have some good educational ones that my youngest likes. Also there is one called Monkey something which is a maths one. I can probably add more when I get home and have a look
