Did anyone else suffer from the heat yest? I stupidly due to work stayed out in the sun 11-3. I'm 4mo pregnant. I drank so much that I'm still going to the toilet, so didnt get dehydrated, but had a headache all day, felt awful and now today feel dizzy and really nauseous - and I never get nauseous.

Just wondering if anyone else still feels a bit sick from the 42c day and if this is just a little bit of heatstroke or something. Also a little concerned baby may be affected.

Keep your fluids up even if you think you're not dehydrated. It can't hurt and see your GP for a check up, just in case. You've probably just over done it a bit but, better to get checked just in case.

How much is drank so much? You CAN actually drink so much that it kills you. If you are passing pale urine, please stop drinking and go to a GP. Your symptoms may be that of 'water poisoning' if you drank over more than a glass an hour over the whole day, or more than about 10 L in total.

What fresh hell is this?
Please see your GP ASAP. As AB says, you can die from drinking too much water, and you can also get sick from it as it because you dilute the essentials minerals in your body too much.

I think a quick trip to the GP wouldn't hurt.
You might need a certificate form your GP or OB for work asking for lighter duties if you are always out in the sun or have a physical job. Pregnancy can be really hard on your body.

Do you mean an employer required you to work across the heat of the day pregnant? That would be so wrong.
*yes I know pregnant women do not require cottonwool

I would think overdosing on water is pretty unlikely. Usually people that do this are elite athletes and, occasionally, pill poppers who drink heaps while they are dancing. If this was the case its probably you would have had much more extreme symptoms yesterday.

I think you are right - you overdid it in the heat.

I will amend my post, if when you say you drank fluids yesterday you meant you drank a lot way more than necessary then you may have drank too much. If this is possible present to your nearest hospital for treatment.

However, if you thn you have overdone it then see your GP for a check up. There is no harm in doing this. If you're still worried then contact your Ob.

Thanks all. I always pass pale or water clear urine...always! I feel better after having iced coffee and sitting in front of the fan - probably just tiredness and sleep deprivation from not much sleep last night!

Yeah, I think I over did it yesterday. Went to the pool for most of the day and then my sisters in the afternoon because our house gets so hot. Was so glad we did. We got home about 6:30pm and our house felt like an oven and the floor was SO hot!

Had the fan on all night and had a headache yesterday afternoon. Woke up this morning (after not really sleeping much) and feel nauseous.

Going to get some hydrolite or something when we are all ready.
