[Bek+3]

We have a set of 9 Global Knives which are about 10 years old now. They have been great but we want to upgrade so were going to put them on Gumtree.

We have been looking at a brand called Shun. Does anyone have any experience with these? We were going to buy 3 individual knives which would cost around $600. They have a 3 knife set on sale at the moment for $349 though which is a bargain but they are not the 3 that we exactly want (one is) but for the price we might settle. Not sure but that's not important.

What is though is if others have any good, bad or indifferent reviews on this brand or suggestions for a better knife than the Globals.

I have a Zwilling Pro S set of knives that was given to me 7 years ago. Absolute awesome knives. They feel nice and light/balanced when chopping and slicing larger heavier items ie water melon.
They are made in Germany and the price isn't too bad as you will get a few decades out of them for sure. The blades are ice hardened, so they are extra sharp and wont corrode.

Just google reviews for the Zwilling knives and you will not find 1 negative review.

Coincidentally, catch of the day has a set of pro's on special today for $239,-. Im not sure if you'll read this in time, but they're usually $300,- and up. If you miss out, I still recommend to keep an eye out for the Zwilling knives....
