Lately i've been hearing a lot of TTC'ers (not just here on EB either) go thru their 2WW picking at EVERY SINGLE craving or whatever and calling it a symptom/sign and then the big day comes and AF is a day late but your getting and your world comes tumbling down because you swear black and blue that the sore nipples or the pimple on your chin that you NEVER get or even the certain smells you can't handle now, you swear were pregnancy related! I just don't understand..and I know i'm gonna get FLAMED for this but isn't it true?? Why do we obsess so much over our bodies when we are TTCing? We are just upsetting ourselves by doing so! What do you think?? Edited because I just want to make it clear that I have nothing against the women who worry about bleeding or cramps.

QUOTE (Oriental lily @ 14/01/2013, 07:03 PM) Because they are ttc? Some people are extremely anxious and worried. Some people have been ttc for months and months.
I guess op you will be one of these insensitive people to say 'relax, just let it hapen' when for some people it's much much harder than that. Hey I understand it's not all flowers and rainbows and there are things that women should never ever go thru and I have friends who have tried for nearly half their life to have a baby but I'm just talking about the ladies who over think symptoms way before conception has even occurred.

I joked to DH at one stage about the smell of something and how it could be a sign. The only times I had true pregnancy symptoms was when I had the suspected chem preg (5 days late, sore boobs, sick, one strange test all others negative) and the month we got pregnant with this one (sick, sore boobs, heaps of positives) Those symptoms meant that I could be pregnant and that month wasn't a waste or wasn't another month toward us not getting there on our own. I was determined to get there without medical help I think because for so long I had been told it wouldn't happen) I wanted something so bad that every bit of hope was clung to. For me I only got the true ones twice as I said a suspected chem and a proper positive which had turned into this baby.

QUOTE (~Peaches~ @ 14/01/2013, 08:21 PM) I would say it's because it's something you want so very much. It's hard to be rational sometimes when it's something you desperately want, and really you don't have all that much control over. Sure, your brain knows it's not going to be all that helpful to obsess over every little niggle or twinge, but you can't help that your heart wants to hold onto hope that that could be the lucky month Especially as the months go by and you want it even more. That two weeks can feel like a long time to wait, so I can see why people would want to read into things that could possibly mean they are finally having their much longed for baby. As long as it's not hurting anyone else, I don't see any harm in it. Thank you peaches that is very true. I meant this post in a semi-light hearted way...I never intentionally wanted to hurt anyone...if I have I am sincerely sorry! Edited-because i can't spell

Trust me... I'm a scientician

I think I was on to my 14th cycle and coming up to testing time. I was driving home and singing along to the radio and I couldn't hit the high notes. It suddenly dawned on me that when I was pregnant with DS I couldn't sing as well as normal, therefore I HAD to be pregnant. I stopped on the way home to purchase a HPT and was completely devestated when it was negative. In hindsight of course it was ridiculous. It's the sort of thing any rational person would think was completely absurd. Anyone else would say why are you doing this to yourself, it's torture! But I remember so vividly how I was feeling around that time, I was willing to hold onto anything. I feel really sad thinking about that day because it encapsulates the desperation and sadness that I was feeling. I don't expect anyone who hasn't had some difficulty TTCing to understand. QUOTE I would say it's because it's something you want so very much. It's hard to be rational sometimes when it's something you desperately want, and really you don't have all that much control over. Completely agreee.
