Posting here for traffic.

About to do a marinade for CHicken Strips (similar to those cook in bags things), how does BBQ, Soy and Garlic sound???

Kids hate honey and aren't fussed on anything too spicy.

I want to add red wine instead of BBQ, but am not too keen on going to the Bottle shop.

Should work, BBQ sauce isn't as sweet as honey but should still work for a bit of sweetness.

Sounds good to me. The soy should balance the tang/sweetness of the bbq and garlic is always good. You could add ginger too if you have it (and if you like it) but it will be good without it.

If they aren't keen on honey just use brown sugar instead.

I was confused for a litlte while as to why using red wine in a meal would require a trip to the bottle shop. Then it ocurred to me that not everyone has far too much wine in their house....... blush.gif

Try it.

If they don't like it don't cook it again shrug.gif

I do that all the time, unless of course I like it then I'll cook it again, and again, and again. Stuff it!

I see a bad-ass mother who don't take crap off of nobody
I usually add a bit of bbq sauce to chicken wings because it makes them go all sticky with sticky goodness mmmmmmmmmmmmm. What you are doing is basically what I do.
