Just wondering if there are others out there who would love to vent but can't.

I know that if I post a vent those involved would recognise it and future occasions could become uncomfortable.

I don't actually want to vent, particularly, but I'd like to be able to add more detail to some of my replies. If I really sympathise with someone's vent or WDYT, it would be good to explain a similar situation that happened to me or explain the quirks of my friend/relative/workmate/acquaintance. I would hate to hurt anyone, though, or become identifiable. And I would particularly not want to be subject to an embarrassing confrontation about whether I was writing about them on the internet.

Some go anon or open another account for this exact purpose.

I'm too lazy but I can see why it would be done. You've gotta let it out somewhere don't you?

Some things i wish i could say/vent about but i signed a non disclosure about it, before that though i made sure anything i said didnt go into too much detail. The fall out by saying something publicly would have impacted it all and drawn it all out. It just wasnt worth it really.

Yep.
I've got a certain someone I would love to let of steam about on here occasionally, but when it gets to the stage of wanting to vent the details are usually distinctive enough that if anyone who knows that person stumbles across it the poo is going to hit the fan in a big way.

I can't even go anonymous for it as the people involved haven't got a clue as to my EB username, the details are what would get me into trouble.

yep same.

I have often written a reply, read it back and then gone 'nup, too much info' and not hit Add.

I think I have enough identifying info on me out there in the www as it is.

Yep. Not so much just vent, but I'd really like some advice on a tricky situation and I know EB would give good, honest feedback... but it's too risky. At least one EBer knows both me and the other person.
