I just wanted to share my success story, for those who may also be suffering unnecessarily from heavy periods.
After the birth of my last baby my periods became heavier, and for a long time I thought that was just my lot. I could no longer use tampons as they would 'wash' out with the huge amounts of bleeding. But after visiting the GP & Gyne as well as tests to rule out any problems, I had an endometrial ablation. That was 6 weeks ago, and I have had no period!!!
The procedure involves day surgery with a general anesthetic & means you can no longer have children, so it's not for everyone, and obviously you would need to talk to your Dr. But the recovery was quick & I am amazed with the results!
The more of my friends I spoke to about this, the more I realised how many other women are suffering in silence. So I wanted to share in case others are in the same boat, and don't realise that something can be done.
Good luck

Thank you Gen71. I have an appt with a gyno at the end of the month because of this. The u/s has shown some other abnomolies which they will double check but seems nothing serious. However this might be the solution for me so am glad to hear that it went well for you.
