I have my 12 turning 13 year old nieces birthday coming up and want to get her something really good.

They are reasonably indulged children that have pretty much everything so it needs to be something maybe a bit cool, quirky and original... She is my only (and seriously favourite favourite favourite) niece and I love her to bits so am open to suggestions and might be able to go in with my other siblings on a present if its expensive.

She is a very cool girl, like no other prissy young lady I have ever known. Beautiful, headstrong, charismatic, musical, funny, she's very switched on and just a gorgeous young lady so I'm racking my brain for something special.

Bring it on.

Someone posted earlier today about Bellabox - where you get skincare/makeup etc samples every month, you can buy a gift subscription for $15/month.

Is she too young for something like this? Or maybe someone will know if there is a "teen" equivalent?

What about a really nice, handmade journal?

Or instead an outing to something she'd love - sporting event, concerts, swimming with a dolphin etc

I like this idea, but her mum is a makeup queen so she's already got enough... And its all nice makeup too. sad.gif

Yup, I already did consider a journal, the thought crossed my mind that kids these days don't write much on actual paper anymore!! :/

The outing concept is a great one.

Does she have pierced ears? I was wondering about a pair of nice earrings?

Yes. I gave her some beautiful stones and s/s earrings for her last birthday. I guess I could repeat that to go in her special collection. They are her favourites.

Maybe I could go down the 'hippy' route and just get some gemstones pertaining to love, life, strength, friendship etc.

Maybe a simple necklace like this, then? It's not too expensive but quite elegant for a teen, I think.
