Okay, I have no children and no work, and am thinking of jumping in my car and road-tripping it solo for the next 3 days. Where would you head? I love driving, so any reasonable distance is okay.

I guess it depends - if I head coastal, then I probably need to pre-book and make the decision tonight. If I head inland, then I can probably wing it.

Uploading "solo-chick road-trip" songs to the iPod now.

Tathra - 3 hr drive from Canberra. Great beach without crowds. Fish and chips for lunch and Fat Tony's for dinner.

My family is down that way ... but maybe I could sneak down and tell no one. I have never been to Fat Tony's, despite many recommendations! My youth may have been more than a little mis-spent at Tathra pub (think the era of the Radiators, Choirboys etc)

Oh, come ON!!!! I have about 8 hours until my sleep is exhausted and I hit the road! Surely you guys have some ideas ... or I will blame you when I am sitting partaking a bundy and rum with the blokes in boons-ville.

It's about 5-6 hours drive I think but I love the Gippsland Lakes area in Vic. Lakes Entrance, Metung etc
Or I'd go to Sydney, park myself in a fancy hotel and spend my days shopping and sitting in cafes drinking my drinks before they went cold for once wink.gif
