Hi
I currently have our accounts with CBA, but I'm wanting to have a separate account for direct debits and CBA can't accommodate this. I have been looking at opening an ING account, purely for direct debit payments. My plan is to transfer the required monthly amount for all of our direct debits into this account, and setting them all up again with the new account details. From what I have read on the ING website, there are no fees at all for their Every day account. All I really know about ING is what I have read on EB over the years. For those that use them, have you had any problems or issues? Would my plan work? Thanks |

I'm surprised CBA won't accommodate an extra account?
I have an ING account that I love. I have a weekly direct debit coming out of my ANZ account and this is set up at ING's end. I think from memory you have to have a bank account linked to it. It is a good savings tool as you can't move your money quickly, it's normally a 24 turnaround. I don't pay any bills from this account sorry, I only move money back to my ANZ account. |

The problem I have is with CBA is I can't DD out of the other accounts other than my everyday account. So I'd have to transfer the money back into my everyday account anyway. Hope I'm making sense?
The way I'd like to do it is have the direct debits taken out of a separate account, where I transfer money into monthly and forget about it. The ING Savings Maximiser account you are talking about MrsLexiK do not allow direct debits out of it (same scenario as CBA). It appears there are no fees with the Orange Direct - even if I don't deposit my salary into it per month. |

I have bank accounts and lending with ING, and they are fantastic to deal with - we are on the verge of closing all our other accounts and only being with ING.
Yes, it would work. |

Hi JAC
I have a ING Orange account. No fee. It's great because I get 5% cashback on purchases under $100 with Paywave until July 2013. I also use it for internet purchases. ING also offer $50 bonus if you activate before 31st Jan with referral code. I still have a referral code if you need it. This post has been edited by Lil-Mum: 20/01/2013, 02:43 PM |

JAC - my account was a CBA account only set up to have a direct debit come out of it for my loan. There was a direct debit going in (from fortnight wage) and a direct debit going out (when payment due)
If you get a lot of cheques I wouldn't look at ING direct because putting them in at aus post for me would be a pain, this is really the only down side I can see to not having a branch available. And I suppose also withdrawing lump sums of cash more then they allow at an ATM and if you need a bank cheque it could be harder to get. But if you are solely using it for a direct debit I don't see the above being an issue. |

I'm with ING using orange everyday as a mortgage offset account. I love it, great customer service (as long as you are happy to access only phone or Internet banking) and no fees!
Another reason I love them is the last 3 rate cuts have been passed on IN FULL, not sure if the same can be said about the bad four. |

I'm doing this too, and they've been very good so far (including their call centre). They are also refunding other banks' ATM charges, which is nice. |
