My DD has been wanting a rainbow skirt for awhile now, today I finally got around to making it for her.

I still need to sew in a lining but DD was so excited that it can wait a day or two.

I was looking at that one when I went looking for inspiration, it's a lovely skirt I almost chose it was well and then I found the circle skirt from there decided it wouldn't be that hard to create a Rainbow Maxi Skirt.

DD has spent the afternoon twirling as she likes how the skirt spins right out oh and when she wasn't twirling she was looking at herself in the mirror

I may actually make the vertical rainbow skirt next as I still have material left.

so you did that as a circle skirt?
wow the piecing would drive me bonkers I think!
although..... I had been planning a double circle skirt for DD as a twirly skirt could be the go....

Gorgeous skirt. My daughter would love a long one like that.

I bought this pattern: http://www.madeit.com.au/detail.asp?id=612723#prettyPhoto and made the panelled rainbow skirt from it. I am a terrible sewer but this was super easy for me. Everyone comments on Molly's rainbow skirt.

Yes, Standard Circle Skirt pattern and yes the piecing together drove me bonkers. In all it took me about 6 hours but I only have a sewing machine, if I had an Overlocker it would have taken half the time.
